Giant Straw Meerkat

A giant Meerkat is the latest design a long line of straw sculptures which appear at Snugburys Ice Cream parlour at Park Farm, near Nantwich every summer. Last year it was a replica of Big Ben that greeted the visitors. This year it’s a massive Meerkat ~ Simples!

Once again the straw sculpture has been getting big coverage in the National newspapers, the Daily Mail calls it ‘Hay, It’s Simples‘ and the Sun opts for the headline ‘Ex-Straw-Dinary‘. I love it and took some photos on a trip out to the ice cream parlour. The meerkat is thirty six feet tall, that’s 30 times bigger than his African cousins and he can be seen keeping lookout at Snugburys everyday.
